A late Leandro Trossard goal gave Brighton a 1-0 victory against Tottenham away.
Leandro Trossard gave Brighton another 3 points win as they deny Spurs the chance to further secure their top four spot.

At (90'min) mark, Brighton's Leandro Trossard put the Seagulls 1-0 up against Tottenham, completing a stunning north London dual for Brighton.

To make matters worse for Spurs, a brilliant goal from Trossard in the area gave Brighton their initial victory at since 1981 at Spurs home.

For the first time since their past 7 games, Tottenham Hotspur failed to register an attempt on goal, having Heung-Min Son's second-half effort blocked by Joel Veltman and Lucas Trossard. Harry Kane has the fewest touches of any international starter who played the full 90 minutes.

As a consequence, Tottenham's dreams of finishing in the top four have been dashed. A draw against the Saints on Saturday means that Antonio Conte's side will miss the opportunity to go 6 points ahead of Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta's side have such a chance to make up for their loss at Brighton last week. It's possible for the 5th position, while Arsenal might catch-up to Tottenham on points in the league standing, yet with a a game still to play.

During First-half mark, Craig Pawson who is the match referee may have made a big difference in how the match at Spur's home turned out. This would have been greater punishment than that of the yellow card that Dejan Kulusevski got for swinging his elbow at Marc Cucurella.

Mwepu was dangling precariously from the edge of the cliff when he was cautioned for an unsportsmanlike tackle on Sergio Reguilon, but managed to get away from another yellow card that could have seen him sent off after treading on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's foot.

Trossard's late goal gave Brighton their second victory in a row after a comfortable 45 minutes after the interval, when Mwepu was substituted at half-time.

Brighton's dominant performance as seen from their past seven games, in which they had only picked up a single point before their last win against the Gunners, was evident as they were more confident in todays game against Tottenham.

Inside the opening minutes, Brighton's Veltman got a lovely challenge on Harry Kane although Brighton seemed to have the better chances, also with Netherlands international himself denied when Mwepu's drive which came in through corner was saved. After that, Rodrigo Bentancur had to be alert to deny Mac Allister from slipping the ball through a volleyed corner from the side.

After a chaotic first half in which Mwepu as well as Kulusevski were the main focus, Son appeared the most probable for the home team to end the goalless moment at home, however they were stopped in their two attemps on goal with in 7 minutes interval as Bentancur fired well over.

There was still some danger from the Seagulls, despite Pascal Gross's shot going over and as well as Tariq Lamptey's shot being saved by Hugo Lloris.

Trossard's trickery worked for Eric Dier, chipped shot went over Lloris as a result of the visitors' late deep run.
